A monumental skyscraper poised to be the largest in the world is currently under construction in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Mukaab Tower, an ambitious cube-shaped structure reaching a height of 1,300 feet, is designed to accommodate 20 Empire State Buildings within its impressive dimensions. This towering marvel will serve as the centerpiece of the expansive New Murabba development, which spans seven square miles, promising to redefine the skyline and urban landscape of the Saudi capital.
The Mukaab tower, measuring 1,200 feet wide, will feature luxury residential spaces, shops, and restaurants, along with advanced technology that allows its outer walls to display virtual reality images.
The state-funded New Murabba Development Company reports that groundworks are 86 per cent complete, with the tower expected to be finished by 2030. The project is situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads in northwest Riyadh.

Riyadh's New Murabba mega project, announced by HRH Mohammad bin Salman as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 strategy, aims to establish a globally iconic destination and promote sustainable urban growth. Covering two million square meters, it will include over 104,000 residential units, 620,000 square meters of leisure facilities, and 1.8 million square meters of community spaces.
The project is expected to create 334,000 jobs and contribute SAR 180 billion to the non-oil GDP, positioning Riyadh as a key hub for innovation and tourism.
The outer dome of the atrium surrounding the tower will be equipped with advanced holographic and virtual reality screens, projecting stunning, imaginative landscapes that will transport both visitors and locals to a 'gateway to another world.'
