Asserting that the United States will take a tougher stance if a diplomatic resolution regarding its nuclear programme is not reached soon, he said Iran should get smart soon.
Trump posted a picture of himself holding an assault rifle and the slogan: 'No More Mr Nice Guy'. The post shows his frustration over the delay of the negotiations, asserting that "Iran can't get their act together." He further criticised the Iranian leadership's inability to finalise an agreement, noting, "They don't know how to sign a non-nuclear deal."
"Iran can’t get their act together. They don’t know how to sign a non-nuclear deal. They better get smart soon! President DJT," he wrote in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump Signals That The US Plans Tougher Policy
The post from the US Trump signals a potentially more aggressive policy if Tehran continues to resist the terms proposed by Washington.
The statement follows recent efforts to negotiate a "Trump" deal that would replace previous agreements, which the President has frequently described as insufficient for ensuring global security.
US Planning To Extend The Blockade Of Iran's Ports
Meanwhile, Trump urged Iran to sign a deal soon, following days of deadlock in efforts to end the conflict and a media report that the U.S. would extend its blockade of Iran's ports. The Wall Street Journal cited US officials as saying the President had instructed aides to prepare for an extended blockade of Iran's ports in a bid to force Tehran to capitulate.
Officials said that Trump had opted to continue squeezing Iran's economy and oil exports with the blockade as his other options - resuming bombing or walking away from the conflict - carried more risk, according to the WSJ.
