UAE Work From Home: Amid deadly strikes from Iran on the UAE and other Arab nations following the death of its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the US-Israel strikes, the authorities in the UAE have issued key guidelines for the residents. Several social media posts have spread misinformation regarding movement and work timings, leading to confusion among the residents and tourists. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has advised the residents to carry out the usual activities while exercising caution.

Is Work From Home Mandatory?

In its advisory, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has suggested remote work for the private sector at least till March 3. The authority advised the firms to avoid public gatherings in open areas, except for the cases that require physical attendance. The ministry also asked these establishments to implement remote work "wherever possible" to avoid any inconveniences.

However, the advisory clarified that remote work is not compulsory, adding that the decision will be taken by the local authorities and firms based on the nature of work and operational requirements. While another set of advisories is expected if the situation escalates, remote work is not compulsory as of now. As per the reports, the local firms have already implemented remote work to provide relief to their employees.

Ramadan Work Hours Are Implemented

The authorities also clarified that the employees across the UAE will continue to get a two-hour reduction in working hours during Ramadan. They further stated that the firms can arrange the working hours within the reduced working hours.

The Government of Dubai Media Office on Monday stated that the private firms are operating without any disruption, adding that the residents can carry out the usual activities. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism also assured that the market remains active, adding that the residents are not required to stock up on essentials.
