US-Iran-Israel War Live Updates: Multiple explosions rock Iran's capital, Tehran, near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and strikes are underway in other cities as well after Israel on Saturday launched an unprecedented attack on Iran, with Defence Minister Israel Katz calling them "preemptive strikes". A national emergency has been declared in Israel, while Iran has closed its airspace.
US President Donald Trump also confirmed that a "major combat operation" is underway in Iran, with US defence forces attacking Iran from sea and air. Trump accused Iran of developing a "very long-range" missile that can target Washington and said that the strikes have been launched to safeguard the American people.
Meanwhile, a report by Reuters, quoting an Iranian official, stated that Ayatollah Khamenei has been moved to a secure location, following strikes near his offices in the capital, Tehran.
