Ajit Pawar Convoy Accident: A couple and their two minor daughters were injured in a road accident in Beed district on Saturday. According to the police, the accident occurred when a fire brigade vehicle, part of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's convoy, rammed into their motorcycle.
Police officials said the road accident took place on Telgaon-Dharur Road in Dharur tehsil around 11.30 am, when Pawar was travelling from Parbhani towards Dharur. The fire brigade vehicle in his convoy hit a motorcycle on which the couple and their daughters were travelling.
The accident created chaos for a while, affecting traffic movement. However, senior traffic officials swung into action after the accident and controlled the situation. They shifted victims to the hospital and resumed the normal vehicular movement on the Telgaon-Dharur Road.
The victims are identified as Vishnu Sude, his wife Kusum and their two daughters, aged three and seven years. They sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

An official of Dharur police station said the family members were immediately taken to Dharur Rural Hospital, from where they were shifted to Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College and Hospital in Ambejogai for further treatment.
The accident caused traffic congestion on the Telgaon-Dharur road for some time. The police have seized the vehicles involved in the accident, but no case has been registered so far.

In another development on November 22, Pawar told voters at Malegaon in the district that he will ensure there is no shortage of funds for the town if they elected the candidates of his party, but if they rejected them, he will also "reject".
Pawar, who heads the Nationalist Congress Party, was campaigning for elections to the Malegaon Nagar Panchayat in Baramati tehsil on Friday.
