In a disturbing incident from Maharashtra’s Amravati district, a wedding celebration turned violent when the groom, Sujal Ram Samudra, was attacked and stabbed on stage in front of dozens of guests. A drone recording the ceremony captured the entire assault and later followed the fleeing suspects for nearly two kilometres.
Police authorities said the accused, Ragho Jitendra Bakshi, approached the groom during the function and stabbed him three times with an iron knife, inflicting serious injuries to his thigh and knee. The drone footage, now serving as vital evidence, clearly shows Bakshi’s face and the direction in which he escaped.
The video starts with the moment of the attack and then tracks the suspect seen wearing an orange hoodie as he runs out of the venue, hops onto a motorcycle parked outside, and speeds away. Another man, dressed in black, joins him on the bike. Despite one relative’s attempt to stop them, both managed to escape, with the drone following their route for about two kilometres before losing track.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the stabbing was the result of a minor scuffle during a DJ performance, when the groom and Bakshi allegedly pushed each other while dancing. The confrontation is believed to have angered Bakshi, who later launched the attack. Amid the commotion, he also tried to stab the groom’s father, Ramji Samudra, before fleeing.
A case has been registered at Badnera Police Station, and investigators are reviewing the drone footage to trace the suspects. As of now, the main accused is still on the run.
The injured groom was rushed to RIMS Hospital in Amravati, where doctors reported that although he suffered deep wounds, his condition remains stable. Police continue to investigate the case.
