Maharashtra Accident: At least 8 people were killed, and several others are reportedly injured after a pickup vehicle overturned at Chandsaili Ghat, in Nandurbar district, Maharashtra. The injured have been hospitalized for treatment.

According to a report by Jagran.com, the pickup vehicle was carrying devotees returning from Astamba Devi Yatra when the driver lost control at a ghat turn, causing the vehicle to plunge into a deep gorge.

In the devastating accident, occupants were thrown out, leading to the tragic deaths of eight people. Several others were injured, with many in critical condition.

The police team rushed to the scene and initiated rescue operations upon receiving information about the accident. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for urgent medical assistance.

Overspeeding Led To Accident

According to preliminary investigations, the accident seemed to have occurred due to overspeeding, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle at a sharp turn in the ghat section.

The police have started an investigation into the cause of the accident and are working to identify the victims. The devotees were traveling back to their village after attending the Astamba Devi Yatra when the tragic incident occurred.
