Maharashtra Election Result 2024 Highlights: Mahayuti Prepares To Form Govt After Clean Sweep Victory

Reacting to Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said, "We will definitely analyse the result that has come. But today we can say that even those who won did not anticipate that this result would come. We were assuming that we will get the mandate. The farmers of Maharashtra are angry, the working class of Maharashtra is against the government. And the atmosphere that was there in Maharashtra 4-5 months ago, the same atmosphere is there today too, we were assuming this and everyone accepted this. But the results that have come are completely opposite to this. But this does not mean that we will step back from our agenda... somewhere there is a conspiracy to defeat us... The result of Maharashtra is very strange, I cannot use any other word for it, it is absolutely strange..."

Prime MInister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked the people of the state after Mahayuti's landslide victory and wrote on X, "...United we will soar even higher!  Heartfelt gratitude to my sisters and brothers of Maharashtra, especially the youth and women of the state, for a historic mandate to the NDA... I assure the people that our Alliance will keep working for Maharashtra’s progress."

Maharashtra Dy CM Ajit Pawar given credit to the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' and said that it became a game changer in the elections. He said,  "Ladki Bahin Yojana became our game changer. It defeated each of our adversaries. I have not seen such a victory in my memory. We will not be swayed away by the victory but this has increased our responsibility for sure. We have to behave responsibly now. Especially financial discipline is needed to fulfil all our promises. We are committed to that. Those who are blaming EVM must remember that we lost Lok Sabha on EVMs only and now we have lost Jharkhand on EVM only. We lost a few seats with very thin margins. This alliance will work together till the end of the next 5 years for the overall development of Maharashtra..."

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday addressed the media as Mahayuti set for a landslide victory in Maharashtra, and said that the Opposition's efforts of propagating fake narrative, and polarisation of voters based on religion foiled by the masses.

"I succeeded in breaking the 'chakravyuh' of opposition due to the support of voters, our team and party leaders," he added, further clarifying that there was no dispute in the CM's post inside the party.

Maharashtra Assembly Election Result 2024: Congress' Amin Patel is leading against  Shiv Sena's Shaina NC by a margin of 15,424 votes after 8/17 rounds of counting in Mumbadevi Assembly constituency.

As the Mahayuti alliance could be seen winning over 200 seats in Maharashtra, with the BJP leading on over 120, Fadnavis spoke to his mother and also posted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election slogan. “Ek hain to safe hain, Modi hai to mumkin hai (We are safe if we remain one, It’s possible if there’s Modi)," Fadnavis posted on X.,

NCP candidate and Nawab Malik’s daughter Sana Malik was trailing in Maharashtra’s Anushakti Nagar against NCP-SP’s Fahad Ahmad, as per the ECI data.

The BJP has taken a swipe at Uddhav Thackeray stating that the people of Maharashtra have uprooted his pride. The party said that the BJP has more seats than Uddhav, Sharad Pawar and Congress.,

BJP is likely to send its central observers to Mumbai tomorrow. They will hold talks with the alliance partners. The new cabinet is likely to be sworn in before November 26. Sources, cited by News 18, say senior leaders like Rajnath Singh will be sent as observers.

Supporters of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister and NCP candidate from Baramati constituency, Ajit Pawar, have started bursting firecrackers. NCP candidates Dhananjay Munde and Chhgan Bhujbal are leading in Parli and Yevla.

As per early trends, Mahayuti is leading in 18 out of 21 Pune seats.,

The BJP is leading in all 5 seats in Nagpur, where RSS headquarters is located.

Mahayuti is currently leading in 127 seats. MVA has maintained lead in 105 seats.

NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Zeeshan Siddique is leading in Bandra East in early trends. 

MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray, who entered the poll fray from Mahim in the Maharashtra Assembly polls, is leading from Mahim in the early trends.

Regarding the vote counting for the Maharashtra Elections 2024, Pune Rural Deputy SP Sudarshan Rathore stated that all arrangements have been made according to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. No one is allowed to bring mobile phones. Full privacy will be maintained. Today, 250 of our personnel have been deployed here, and 20 officers have also been assigned duties. ,

Axis My India has projected 178-200 seats for Mahayuti and 82-108 for MVA; Today’s Chanakya has predicted 175 seats for Mahayuti and 100 for the MVA. Several other pollsters have also predicted Mahayuti's victory. 

While all eyes will be on which alliance reaches the 145-seat mark to form the government, there are several high-stakes battles and constituencies that stand out. Notable among them are the contests involving key leaders: Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) in Nagpur South West, Eknath Shinde (Shinde Sena) in Kopri-Pachpakhadi, and the clash between Ajit Pawar (NCP-Ajit Pawar) and Yugendra Pawar (NCP-Sharad Pawar) in Baramati. Other intriguing matchups include Aaditya Thackeray (Sena UBT) vs. Milind Deora (Shinde Sena) in Worli; the Rane family facing off against Sena UBT in Konkan; Zeeshan Siddique (NCP-Ajit Pawar) vs. Varun Sardesai (Sena UBT) in Bandra East; Chhagan Bhujbal (NCP-Ajit Pawar) vs. Manikrao Shinde (NCP-Sharad Pawar) in Yeola; and the three-way contest between Amit Thackeray (MNS), Mahesh Sawant (Sena UBT), and Sada Sarvankar (Shinde Sena) in Mahim.

The vote counting for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections will begin at 8 AM today. There is a tough competition between the MVA and Mahayuti in this election.

Voting has taken place on 288 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. For both the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliances, the support of 145 MLAs will be required to form the government.

With the counting of votes for the Maharashtra assembly polls set to commence at 7 am, officials at polling booths are fully prepared. Maharashtra's Chief Electoral Officer, S Chockalingam, lauded the efforts to enhance voter participation.
