Maharashtra Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a period of pre-monsoon activity for Maharashtra during the next five to six days. Across the state, light to moderate showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are taking over rising humidity and erratic temperatures.
Rainfall has been forecast by the IMD for each of Maharashtra's four meteorological divisions. Maximum temperatures may not significantly drop as a result of the showers, but over the next three days, interior regions should have a 1–2 degrees reduction in temperatures before gradually rising again.
The southeastern Arabian Sea, the Maldives, and portions of the southern Bay of Bengal are starting to experience favorable conditions for the southwest monsoon. A cyclonic circulation has also shifted to the north interior of Karnataka from its previous location over the Konkan. It is anticipated that this system may affect Maharashtra's weather.
Residents of Mumbai (except from Palghar) and the Konkan-Goa belt may anticipate thunderstorms and moderate rain. Similar amounts of rainfall are also expected for Beed, Latur, and Dharashiv in the Marathwada area, as well as central Maharashtra.
There may be sporadic rain and strong winds in Vidarbha. Residents are being advised to exercise caution as the IMD has issued a 'yellow alert' for many regions.
Over the next four days, pre-monsoon rainfall is expected in Pune and the neighbouring areas, along with thunder, lightning, and squalls.
