At least two persons lost their lives and three were injured after a fire broke out in the Pavan Dham Veena Santur Building of Mahaveer Nagar in Kandivali West. The incident took place at 12:27 PM on Monday, and the fire was taken under control with the help of eight firefighters.

The deceased were identified as Glory Walphati (43) and Josu Gems Robert (8).

According to police, five people sustained burn injuries in the fire incident and were rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced Walphati and Robert brought dead. The other three victims are still undergoing treatment at the hospital, they added.

"Two people lost their lives and 3 persons are injured in the fire that broke out in the Pavan Dham Veena Santur Building of Mahaveer Nagar in Kandivali West earlier today," said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

The blaze was confined to electric installations, an official said. Earlier on Saturday, a fire broke out at an ice factory situated in the MIDC area of Landewadi, Bhosari, in Pimpri Chinchwad city of Pune district.

In yet another separate incident, a minor fire broke out on the second floor of a shop in central Delhi's Chawri Bazar area on Monday, PTI cited officials as saying. They also mentioned that the fire was brought under control and no one was injured.

"The fire department received information about the fire at 9.50 am. Four fire engines were pressed into service. It was a minor fire in a room where some safety equipment was kept," PTI quaoted officials as saying.
