Mumbai Megablock August 31: The Central Railway (CR), Mumbai division, has announced a megablock on Sunday, August 31, to carry out essential repair and maintenance work on the Central and Harbour lines. The block will impact local train services for several hours, causing inconvenience to passengers, particularly during the Ganeshotsav festival when many plan to visit pandals across the city. Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and stay updated with service changes.
Mumbai Megablock: Central Line Block Between Vidyavihar And CSMT
On the Central line, a block has been scheduled between Vidyavihar on the Up and Down slow lines from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM.

Mumbai Megablock: Down Slow Line Services (From CSMT)
Local trains departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:48 AM and 3:45 PM will run on the Down Fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar. During this diversion, trains will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla, before rejoining the Down Slow line at Vidyavihar.
Mumbai Megablock: Up Slow Line Services (From Ghatkopar)
Trains starting from Ghatkopar between 10:19 AM and 3:22 PM will be diverted to the Up Fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. These services will stop at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla stations before resuming their normal route.
Mumbai Megablock: Harbour Line: Kurla–Vashi Block
The Harbour line will also face disruptions as a block is scheduled between Kurla and Vashi on both Up and Down lines from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.
Mumbai Megablock August 31: Cancelled Services
All Down Harbour Line trains from CSMT to Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 10:34 AM and 3:36 PM will remain cancelled.
Similarly, Up Harbour Line trains from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi to CSMT between 10:16 AM and 3:47 PM will also not operate.
Mumbai Megablock August 31: Special Train Services
To reduce inconvenience, the Central Railway will run special local trains between CSMT–Kurla and Panvel–Vashi during the block hours.
Alternate Travel Options
Commuters on the Harbour line have been given the option to travel via alternate routes. Passengers can use connections through Thane–Vashi or Neral stations between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to reach their destinations.
