Mumbai Metro Update: India Post in collaboration with the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), has opened a dedicated Service Desk and a series of art installations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminals on the Aqua Metro Line near Entry/Exit Gates A2 and A3. 

The project seeks to improve commuter convenience by making key postal services more accessible across Mumbai’s growing metro network. The launch was officiated by Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General of the Maharashtra & Goa Circle, and Kaiya Arora, Director of Postal Services for the Mumbai Region, in the presence of senior representatives from India Post and Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

The newly installed art displays at the station highlight India Post’s wide range of products and services with a mix of visually appealing design along with informative content. Additionally, passers-by will also be able to witness the postal department’s transition from historical times to modern times.

MMRCL Update: How Will The Service Desk Benefit Commuters?

The new Service Desk opened by the India Post will benefit the commuters on the Aqua Line:

- A dedicated counter has been set up for the commuters, offering various collectibles, including AR postcards, themed coasters, water bottles and tote bags.

- Information on the various services of India Post has been provided to support the commuters.

- A My Stamp facility has been set up for visitors, where they can generate customised postage stamps with their own images. 

- Additionally, Aadhar update services are also provided to each visitor.

According to officials, the collaboration between both stakeholders reflects on India Post’s efforts to bring its services within such high-footfall areas and make them accessible to citizens. 

India Post also announced plans to set up similar service desks and installations at three more metro stations, BKC, SEEPZ, and Cuffe Parade, in the next phase of the project.
