A part of the road at the Kalpana Chawla Chowk in Borivalli West, under the Suman Nagar bridge, caved in, leaving a large crater in the middle of the road. Visuals from the busy intersection showed a giant pothole in the middle of the road, exposing the hollow space underneath.

The area was marked as unsafe for the commuters and posed a risk to both the vehicles and pedestrians, IndiaTV reported while sharing a video of the caved-in road.

No casualty has so far been reported by the authorities. However, this raises several questions on the dilapidated conditions of the infrastructure of the financial capital of India, which is battered by severe monsoon year after year.
