Mumbai Kaali Temple Row: A bizarre incident took place at a temple in Mumbai's Chembur–Vashi Naka area, triggering a row on social media. The priest of the temple dressed the idol of the Hindu Goddess Kaali Mata as Christian Mother Mary, drawing criticism. According to Pune Mirror, devotees were shocked to see Goddess Kaali in Christian attire. Many of them filmed the scene on their phones and shared on social media, after which the controversy was amplified.

Weird Clarification By The Priest
The matter came to light when devotees noticed the attire of the goddess. The idol was wrapped in a bright yellow outfit with a crown and holding a baby, just like a Mother Mary statue. When locals approached the priest, Ramesh, for clarification, his reply gave a bigger shocker. He claimed that Kaali Mata appeared in his dream, and she ordered him to dress her idol like that of Mother Mary.

Ramesh's clarification added more confusion and anger among the devotees. The social media post showed an FIR copy, which a police case has been registered in the matter. Residents suspected that the priest might have paid to turn the goddess idol into the Mother Mary. Based on their allegations, the police filed an FIR.

A user, shaaane_rodrigues, on Instragram, wrote, "Lol nobody sane would do this. Dress up another god statue this weirdly. Probably done by someone to create local problems or politics of that area, as the person who did this wanted .......everyone's fighting in the comments section."
Another user, imnehal_02, said, "Maa kaali inka kya haal karegi ye nahi jante. Jai Bhavani (He does have an idea what Maa Kaali will do with him)
