Mumbai Weather: Mumbai is set to face heavy rainfall over the weekend, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) placing the city and its suburbs under an orange alert. The forecast, issued on Saturday morning, warned of widespread showers and very heavy rain at some isolated locations.
Residents woke up to dark skies and intermittent showers across different parts of the city on Saturday. The IMD has already issued an alert for three days, from September 27 to 29, covering Mumbai and the surrounding districts. The weather department has cautioned citizens to remain alert as the rain system moves closer to the Konkan coast.

Mumbai Rain Today
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Arabian Sea will see a high tide of 3.48 metres at 2.25 pm on Saturday, followed by a low tide of 1.06 metres around 8.17 pm. In the 24-hour period ending at 8 am, Mumbai city recorded 30.07 mm of rainfall, while the eastern suburbs registered 26.12 mm and the western suburbs 9.99 mm.
So far, road traffic in the city has remained normal, though some delays have been reported on local train services. The IMD has predicted cloudy skies, heavy rain and the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in the coming days.

Maharashtra Weather Forecast
Along with Mumbai, nearby districts of Palghar, Thane and Raigad are also under an orange alert, indicating moderate to heavy rainfall activity with chances of thunderstorms. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has been marked for heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over the next three days.
Meanwhile, other parts of Maharashtra are facing different levels of alerts. The Konkan region has been placed under a red alert, while Jalna, Beed and Solapur districts in interior Maharashtra are also under red alert due to the likelihood of intense rainfall and strong surface winds. Many other districts remain on yellow or orange alert, suggesting moderate rain activity.
