Mumbai ice cream News: A Mumbai woman has found a piece of a human finger inside an ice cream cone she had ordered through an online delivery service. The woman, hailing from the Malad area, immediately reported the discovery to the local police station.
According to the details provided, the woman's brother, Dr. Orlem Brendan Serrao, aged 27, had already consumed half of the butterscotch-flavoured ice cream when he noticed something amiss on his tongue. Upon closer inspection, he found a human finger inside the ice cream. The ice cream had been ordered by Dr. Serrao's sister through Zepto, a grocery delivery app. Promptly, the sibling duo informed the Malad police about the find.

The authorities have since registered a case against the Yummo ice cream company, from whom the order was placed. The human organ discovered in the ice cream has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for thorough examination and analysis.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Walko Food Co Ltd., the parent company of Yummo, acknowledged the customer complaint and expressed concern over the incident. The company has immediately halted the outsourced manufacturing of the ice cream and has initiated a withdrawal of the product from all stores.

"We are taking this incident very seriously," the spokesperson said. "We have stopped manufacturing the ice cream at the third-party facility and are in the process of isolating the affected batches from our warehouses and the market."
The company has assured full cooperation with the authorities in the ongoing investigation. Additionally, the state Food & Drugs Authority (FDA) has taken note of the matter and may intervene to ensure the safety of consumers.
