National Lok Adalat 2025: Ahead of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for December 13, 2025, the Maharashtra traffic department has issued an important clarification. The session, which aims to resolve various civil and banking disputes across the country, will not address any e-challan cases in Maharashtra. This announcement comes in response to growing rumours circulating on social media, suggesting that traffic fines may be waived or reduced during the Lok Adalat session.

In recent days, misleading claims have spread across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and other social media channels, stating that e-challan fines will be dismissed or lowered as part of the December 13 Lok Adalat. The Maharashtra traffic department has warned citizens to ignore such rumours, urging them not to make payments through any unauthorised links or unofficial channels.

The department clarified that while efforts have been underway since 2021, in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, to resolve pending e-challan cases, these cases will not be part of the National Lok Adalat on December 13. Authorities advised individuals to directly contact the district legal services authority or their local traffic police if they have any genuine e-challan-related cases listed for settlement.
