Navi Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Navi Mumbai's Traffic Department has announced a complete shut down of a section of the Thane-Belapur Road due to upcoming road concreting work near IKEA. This shutdown will begin at 9 PM on Wednesday and is expected to continue until midnight on May 14. The work is being carried out by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

The affected stretch runs from Savita Chemical to Turbhe Railway Station and no vehicles will be allowed to pass through this area during the specified timeframe.

Navi Mumbai Traffic Alternative Routes

To minimise disruption in Navi Mumbai, the traffic department has proposed alternative routes for motorists.

Light vehicles are advised to divert via the Fire Brigade Signal in Mahape, then continue through Sector 26 APMC and Palm Beach Road to reach their destinations.

For heavy vehicles, two routes have been set up. Drivers can either turn left at the Fire Brigade Signal and proceed through the Turbhe MIDC area or turn left from under the Savita Chemical Bridge and follow the same MIDC route.

In response to the traffic management plan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade has issued an official notification, implementing these restrictions under the authority of the Maharashtra Government's Home Department. The aim is to prevent traffic congestion and reduce inconvenience for the public.

In separate news, an IndiGo flight travelling from Chandigarh to Mumbai received a bomb threat on Tuesday, according to Mumbai Police. The call was made to the Sahar airport's control room, warning of an explosive on board. The flight landed safely at Mumbai airport later that night and was directed to an isolation bay. All passengers disembarked without any issues. A thorough security check was carried out, but no suspicious item was found. IndiGo confirmed that all safety protocols were followed during the operation. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and further updates are awaited regarding the source of the threat.
