A massive fire broke out at the Blue Roof Club on Ghodbunder Road in Maharashtra's Thane during fireworks at a wedding function on Thursday night.
Over 1,000 guests were inside the banquet when the fire broke out. The incident took place at around 11 PM. According to Yasin Tadvi, head of the disaster management cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the fire broke out in the mandap decorations kept outside a cabin on the lawn of The Blue Roof Club, where a wedding reception was underway.
The Disaster Management team and fire department responded quickly, dispatching brigades to the scene. All the guests had a narrow escape as the team evacuated them from the scene within time.
The fire was brought under control after considerable effort. No injuries were reported.

Speaking about the incident with the media, YasteenTadvi said that the fire was brought under control in half and hour of the dousing efforts. He said, "We cannot specify the reason for the fire, but the fire was massive. When the Disaster Management team received a call, the fire department immediately dispatched fire brigades to the location. The fire was brought under control after considerable effort. There have been no casualties or injuries. The fire broke out about one hour ago, and we controlled the fire in about half an hour."
