Pune Weather Forecast: Hot Weather is expected to persist in Pune as the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) indicates no relief from scorching heat for the residents. Pune is grappling with one of the hottest summers in recent memory, with daytime temperatures hitting 40 degrees Celsius. The City has registered 13 days with the highest temperature touching or crossing 40 degrees Celsius, the last time 12 such days were observed in April 2019, according to the IMD data. 

The high temperature is expected to persist for 48 hours, as the IMD forecast indicates no relief in sight from hot weather.  According to the IMD data, the city has consistently been registering above normal temperatures since January, with January, February and March temperatures going above normal by 1.2, 2.2 and 2 degrees Celsius, respectively. The month of April followed the trend as it registered an above normal temperature of 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Pune's temperatures are expected to remain between 40-42°C during the day and 21-22°C at night, with no significant weather change in sight.

Maharashtra Weather Update

This year, Maharashtra has experienced several anticyclonic circulations, leading to above-normal temperatures in the state. The IMD seasonal forecast mentioned that Maharashtra will experience above-normal temperatures this year, with citizens to continue enduring severe heat. The major parts of Maharashtra are consistently breaching the 40 degrees Celsius mark. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued severe heatwave warnings for several districts while also predicting unseasonal rainfall in parts of Vidarbha over the next few days.

As per the IMD, Akola recorded the highest temperature at 44.5°C, followed closely by Yavatmal (42.9°C), Amravati (42.8°C), Washim (42.4°C), and Nagpur (42.3°C).

A heatwave alert has been issued for Beed, Latur, and Dharashiv of Western Maharashtra, wherein extreme temperatures are expected to remain the same over the next 72 hours. 

While the heatwave persists, the IMD has forecast unseasonal rainfall for several districts in Vidarbha, including Amravati, Wardha, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli.
