Toing Food Delivery App: Swiggy has introduced a new budget-friendly food delivery app called Toing, which is currently available in select areas of Pune, including Kothrud, Hinjewadi, Wakad, Aundh, and Pimple Saudagar. The app targets price-conscious users, especially college students and young professionals, offering meals primarily in the Rs 100-150 range, with some options priced below Rs 99. Toing is now live on both the Play Store and the App Store and has a green and pink colour scheme.

What Toing Offers
1. Affordable pricing: According to the Play Store listing, menu items start at just Rs 49, with many options priced below Rs 99, and most dishes listed under Rs 250.
2. Transparent charges: The app emphasizes clear pricing, with “no added fees, no hidden taxes” for all orders.
3. No surge or excessive delivery fees: Toing ensures delivery charges are capped, and surge pricing will not be applied, as noted in its listing and coverage.
4. Extensive restaurant partners in the pilot phase: Early reports and the Play Store indicate that users can order from well-known eateries as well as many others, with approximately 1,000 partner outlets available in Pune.
5. Fresh app design: Toing features a green-and-pink color palette, marking a distinct shift from Swiggy’s signature orange branding.
What You Can Get On Toing
Although currently available only in Pune, Toing competes directly with Zepto Cafe, which serves everything from sandwiches and cold coffees to single-serving meals at workplaces. Unlike Zepto Cafe, however, Toing sources its menu from actual restaurants rather than cloud kitchens.
The launch of Toing follows reports by Moneycontrol that Swiggy is set to sell its entire stake in Rapido for up to Rs 2,500 crore. “Many of the new offerings (from Swiggy) will be towards ensuring that the competition does not get a clear opening,” Sriharsha Majety, co-founder and chief executive at Swiggy said.
Why Swiggy Launched It In Pune?
The choice to launch in Pune is likely driven by the city’s demographics, with a large student population and a young workforce. “Bengaluru is already highly saturated. Pune offers more room to grow the business. For now, the company is expected to operate in only 4-5 areas of the city,” according to the Moneycontrol report.
