Using the new Dell XPS this year felt like returning to something familiar but better in every way. Dell has refined nearly every part of the experience, from the materials to the performance, while keeping the premium identity fully intact. The clean aluminum finish, edge-to-edge OLED screen, and minimalist design still carry that unmistakable XPS look. But what really stood out this time was the feel: the typing experience is sharper, the touchpad is now fully haptic and surprisingly responsive, and the overall weight distribution makes it a lot more comfortable to carry around. Inside, it’s powered by Intel’s new Core Ultra series, which brings real improvements in AI tasks and battery life. Whether I was editing large files, streaming in high-res, or switching between heavy browser sessions, it didn’t slow down. Dell clearly knows its audience here those who want elegance without compromising on power. And in 2025, that formula works better than ever.
Dell XPS 2025: Performance, Battery, and Design Tested
- Been using the Dell XPS 2025 for a while now. It just works, honestly. I do a bunch of stuff video editing, design work, sometimes gaming and it handles it without lag. Nothing freezes, even when I’ve got like 8 tabs, Photoshop, and a video project open.
- One thing I really liked it’s super quiet. I expected the fans to go wild, but they barely make a sound. You can still hear them when things heat up, but nothing loud or annoying.
- It does get warm if I’m pushing it hard like rendering a video or doing heavy stuff but not hot enough to make me stop using it on my lap. Totally manageable.
- Battery's been pretty decent. Lasts me the day most of the time. I use it for browsing, typing, a couple of Zoom calls, and I’m usually still at 20-30% by evening. Around 8-ish hours, give or take.
- Charging’s fast too. Like, I plugged it in for 50 mins once and it was at 80%. That kind of thing matters when you're running late or forgot to charge.
- Also, it barely loses battery when it’s just sitting there in sleep mode. Left it overnight more than once and it was still almost full in the morning.
- Looks? Super clean. No flashy stuff. Metal build, slim body. It definitely feels premium and not plasticky like some others.
- Despite all the specs packed in, it’s not heavy. I’ve thrown it in my bag, taken it to cafés, no complaints. Doesn’t feel bulky.
- The trackpad is weird at first no real click, just vibration but after a day or two, I got used to it. Feels smooth now.
- They changed the function keys to these touch ones. Wasn't sure how I’d feel about that, but it didn’t bother me at all in day-to-day use. It looks cleaner too.
- And the screen. Wow. Thin bezels, bright colors, super sharp. Watching stuff or working on photos it just looks really good.
