Ekadashi January 2024: In a Vedic calendar month, Ekadashi is the eleventh lunar day (tithi) of the waxing (Shukla Paksha) and waning (Krishna Paksha) lunar cycles. The main goal of fasting on Ekadashi according to Hinduism, is to master the intellect and the body's senses and direct them towards spiritual development.  A calendar year normally consists of 24 ekadashis. There are occasionally two extra Ekadashi fasts in a leap year. Every Ekadashi day is said to offer unique advantages that can only be obtained by engaging in specified activities. Saphala Ekadashi 2024 Significance - Saphala Ekadashi is the Ekadashi that falls in the month of Paush in the Hindu calendar. Another name for it is Paush Krishna Ekadashi. Since the word "Saphala" means "to prosper," Saphala Ekadashi is appropriately characterised as a day on which devotees receive good fortune by putting an end to their suffering. It is believed that this day of fasting can be used to unlock the doors to success, prosperity, abundance, and good fortune.

Pausha Putrada Ekadashi 2024 Significance - As the name implies, married couples observe the Pausha Putrada Ekadashi in hopes of having a good son, their children's well-being, and the health and welfare of their families. Parents observe Putrada Ekadashi since according to Hindu tradition, having a son is important as he will take care of them in old age and assist them in achieving salvation.
