Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: On Monday, GSB Seva Mandal placed the "Richest Ganpati" in Mumbai for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which started today, September 19, 2023. This year, 66 kg of gold and 336 kg of silver were used to embellish this magnificent idol. In recognition of the Mandal's 69th anniversary, facial recognition cameras have been installed as part of the security measures at King's Circle in the eastern portion of the city. The GSB Seva Mandal took out insurance last year for a record-breaking amount of Rs. 316.40 Crore, and this year it has grown by Rs. 44 Crore. The organizers have also added QR codes and digital live methods for devotees. The Mandal will perform homas (also known as "havans") and other ceremonies in preparation for the Ram Temple's opening in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.  

About GSB Seva Mandal And It’s Ganpati Idol 

The Mumbai-based Gowd Saraswat Brahman (G.S.B.) Seva Mandal was founded in 1951 on the fortunate occasion of Vijaya Dashami. Due to the spectacular Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is very dear to the hearts of all Mumbaikars and the devotees of Lord Ganesha, GSB Seva Mandal which owes its loyalty to Dharmapeetha Shri Kashi Math Samsthan, Varanasi, has won praise and honours from all over the world.

GSB Seva Mandal’s Lord Ganpati Idol at King’s Circle Mumbai is also known as “Mahaganpati”. Devotees also venerate this Lord Ganesha idol as ‘Navsala Pavnaara Vishvacha Raja’ (the lord who is the king of the world and fulfils all the desires of his devotees). The only Mandal in the city where puja, sewa, and annadan are conducted continuously is the GSB Seva Mandal at King's Circle. Over 6 Lakh worshipers visit the location each year on average.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Details About Ganeshotsav Celebrations in 2023 

The auspicious festivities of Ganesh Chaturthi began on 19th September 2023 and will last till 28th September 2023, Anant Chaturdashi (Ganpati Visarjan). This auspicious festival marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati also known as Vighnharta “the remover of all obstacles”.
