This year, Good Friday will be observed on 18th April 2025. The date Of Good Friday varies every year as it is determined by the date of Easter Sunday which falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox. As per the Christian calendar, the day of Good Friday serves as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the love he had for humanity. It is a time for the Christian community to offer prayers and devotion towards their Lord.

We have compiled a list of 5 best teachings by Jesus Christ on humanity, life and love to commemorate his legacy. These powerful lessons by Jesus continue to inspire and guide his followers, offering valuable insights into compassion and forgiveness.

Good Friday 2025: 5 Best Teachings By Jesus Christ On Humanity, Life And Love

1. You can not be loved by both God and the World – Luke 21:17

Jesus warned his followers would face hatred from the world. Yet, some people seek acceptance from both God and the world, often sacrificing obedience to Christ. Paul prioritised God's approval over people's, saying, "I'm not trying to win the approval of people but of God." True devotion to Christ may mean rejecting worldly approval.

2. As you forgive, so shall you be forgiven – Matthew 6:14-15

God demands forgiveness from his followers, despite its difficulty. Jesus taught that forgiving others is crucial for receiving God's forgiveness. Refusing to forgive others means God won't forgive our sins. One’s wrongs against God far exceed others' wrongs against people, yet He forgave people, setting an example for them to follow.

3. Pray for your enemies, bless those who curse you – Luke 6:27-28,35

Jesus taught his followers to love and pray for their enemies. This radical call to love transcends natural human reactions, requiring genuine prayers and kindness towards those who oppose them. By doing so, followers can demonstrate God's love and forgiveness even to those who have hatred inside them.

4. Serve God or wealth, not both – Luke 16:13

Jesus taught that one can not serve God and money simultaneously. One must choose between loving wealth and serving God. If wealth takes priority over God and gospel ministry, one is effectively declaring that money is their master, not God. This choice reveals whether one truly serves the Lord or the riches.

5. Turn the other cheek, show mercy – Luke 6:29

When hurt or insulted, the people naturally lash out. However, Jesus commands his followers to respond differently – absorb the hurt and respond with kindness and love. Jesus modelled this during his crucifixion as he prayed - "Father, forgive them." Paul also advises suffering wrong rather than striking back, even in cases of injustice or defrauding.
