Hanuman Vratham 2024: In Karnataka, Telangana, and parts of Andhra Pradesh, devotees observe Hanumath Vratham, a sacred fasting ritual, to honour Lord Hanuman. This special day falls on the 13th day of the waxing moon phase in the Margashirsha month, usually between November and December. According to legend, Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas, first performed this ritual. This day is also celebrated as Kannada Hanuman Jayanti, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Vratham 2024: Significance
According to legend, Lord Brahma granted a boon to Vayu, the wind god, promising that those who observe the Hanumantha Vrata will achieve success in all their endeavours and enjoy peace and prosperity. On this day, devotees perform Pampa Puja and Hanuman Pooja to seek Lord Hanuman's blessings.
By observing the Hanumath Vratam with devotion, one can attain good health, happiness, and fulfilment of their desires. This sacred ritual was originally taught by Sage Veda Vyasa to King Yudhishtara to alleviate the Pandavas' suffering during their exile. Lord Krishna himself is said to have narrated the Hanumath Vratam to Draupadi, highlighting its significance in achieving one's objectives.

Hanuman Vratham 2024: Rituals
On Hanumantha Vrata day, devotees observe two significant rituals: Pampa Puja and Hanuman Pooja. Another unique custom involves tying a thread with 13 knots, accompanied by the chanting of the sacred mantra "OM Namo Vayunandanaya OM". This ritual is a beautiful expression of devotion to Lord Hanuman.
After the thread-tying ceremony, devotees offer heartfelt prayers to Hanuman at temples or in the comfort of their homes. Additionally, donating wheat to those in need on this day is considered a highly rewarding act of kindness. By performing these rituals, devotees seek Lord Hanuman's blessings and protection.
