Janmashtami 2023: Rules To Keep In Mind To Keep The Idol Of Laddu Gopal At Home

Janmashtami 2023: Laddu Gopal is Lord Krishna's infant form, and devotees revere him as a beloved member of their family by keeping his adorable deity idol in their homes. It is believed that Laddu Gopal bestows happiness, wealth, and luck upon the family. Additionally, Laddu Gopal's arrival at your house is a sign that Lord Krishna is content and desires to see you. One needs to treat the cute Laddu Gopal ji just like a little baby.

Our adorable Laddu Gopal needs a cradle to swing, food to eat, toys to play with, daily bathing, sleeping, and beautiful sringar inclusive of poshaks and accessories. Bringing Laddu Gopal is easy, however, there are a few guidelines and rules that must be followed before bringing the divine deity idol to home. Let's discuss these guidelines.

Rules To Bring Laddu Gopal Idol To Home 

- Make Him Bath Every Morning:  Bathe your Laddu Gopal deity every morning after waking him up, exactly how an individual would get up and take a bath. 

- Make Him Sleep And Wake Up Everyday:  Just as we wake up and sleep every night, one must wake up the laddu Gopal in the same way and make him sleep in the night by reciting lullabies. Make him lie down on his bed i.e. Sinhasan by giving him a pillow and blanket. 

- Do His Sringar Everyday:  Laddu Gopal should have his clothes changed every day, get decorated, wear a lovely crown, and have a flute placed in his hands. One must also do chandan sringar by applying sandalwood tilak on Gopal ji’s forehead. 

- Offer Sattvik Bhog To Him Four Times A Day:  One must prepare sattvik bhog for Laddu Gopal Ji which means that the bhog must not include onion or garlic. One must offer sattvik bhog to the deity in the first place after preparing it. Make sure to add tulsi leaves in the bhog as it is believed that Lord Krishna doesn’t accept any offering without Tulsi. You must offer bhog to gopal ji in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Furthermore, Laddu Gopal ji loves Kheer, Makhan Mishri, and Halwa, therefore you can also serve these as Prasad.

- Do Not Cook Non-Veg or Eatables With Onion, Garlic:  Laddu Gopal ji shouldn't be brought into a house where non-vegetarian food is cooked, as well as onion and garlic are consumed. 

Perform His Aarti Two-Times:  One must perform aarti two times in front of the Laddu Gopal’s idol - one time in the morning and the second time in this meaning as it makes him happy. Don’t forget to do Radha Rani’s aarti along with him. 

- Give Your Laddu Gopal A Name:  It is considered that Laddu Gopal ji becomes a member of the family, hence, he should be given a name. One should address him by this name only. 

- Celebrate His Birthday Every Year:  Remember the day you brought Laddu Gopal ji to your home and celebrate that day every year as his birthday. 

- Do Not Leave Him Alone At Home:  You must not leave the Laddu Gopal deity at your home. Take them along with you if you're going on a long trip.
