Due to the rich cultural legacy and practices of India, marriages are considered special occasions here. Hinduism holds that unions are formed in heaven and are meant to endure for seven lifetimes after marriage. The Bridal Mehendi Ceremony, which involves applying mehendi on the bride prior to the wedding, is one of the oldest customs among the rest.

Mehendi is a representation of the couple's and their families' love. Many times, people think that the bride and groom's deep affection is symbolised by the mehndi's dark colour. Let us check out the significance and astrological significance of Mehendi in Hinduism.

Significance Of Mehendi In Hinduism

Goddess Parvati used mehendi to adorn herself in order to appease Lord Shiva at their marriage. Every Hindu wedding since then has followed this tradition.  Its aroma has aphrodisiac qualities in addition to bringing luck and happiness.

Mehendi is an extremely potent herbal remedy. Hindu marriages last for several days. They are therefore frequently distressing. Even fevers and headaches can result from stress. Mehendi cools the body, calms the nerves, and keeps them from getting tight. Consequently, the groom's hand also has a little pattern on it.

Gods and goddesses too have mehndi designs adorning their hands. The predominant depiction of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi features a big dot in the middle of their hands, surrounded by four smaller dots.

According to astrology, the planet Mars is represented by the colour red. Mars is a symbol for both productive and destructive energy. However, if one uses the colour red sparingly, its energy might be beneficial. It provides the will and drive to thrive in the material world. Mars is known for these attributes, which make red the colour of celebration. A bride adorns herself with bangles, mehndi and nail lacquer, and red clothing.
