Navami Kanya Pujan Shardiya Navratri 2025: Puja Vidhi
To perform Kanya Puja, nine girls and one boy are invited to symbolise the Navadurga and Lord Hanuman, or Launkda. A clean and auspicious space is prepared for them to sit, adorned with new clothes, bindis and bangles. This setup is crucial for the ritual's sanctity and spiritual significance.
The girls' feet are washed as a mark of respect, and a holy thread or Kalawa is tied on their wrists. A tilak using kumkum is drawn on their foreheads. Each girl is then seated on a piece of cloth and offered a plate of halwa, puri, kala chana and sweets.
