Navratri 2024 October: The nine auspicious days of Shardiya Navratri have begun from October 2. Ghatasthapana marks the beginning of Shardiya Navratri, a nine-day celebration honouring Goddess Durga. This ritual involves placing a sacred pot (Ghat) in a designated area, filled with water, soil, and seeds, symbolising the goddess's energy. The pot represents the womb of the universe, while the seeds signify spiritual growth. Ghatasthapana is typically performed on the first day of Navratri, coinciding with the Pratipada phase of the lunar cycle. This ritual is believed to invoke Durga's blessings, ensuring prosperity, health, and spiritual enlightenment. It is essential to perform the Ghatasthapana during shubh muhurat and in the Vastu-compliant direction to maximise its positive effects.

Astrologer and Vastu Shastra expert Rajeev Aacharya of International Sanatan Dharma Parishad Trust Ujjain shares insights on the auspicious vastu-compliant direction for Ghatasthapana and Shubh Muhurat for Kalash Sthapana below:

Navratri 2024 Date October: Auspicious Direction For Kalash Sthapana And Puja Vidhi As Per Vastu Shastra

According to Astrologer and Vastu Expert Rajeev Aacharya, the following activities are Vastu-compliant during Navratri, attracting positive energy and divine blessings from Goddess Durga into your home:

1. Ideal Direction for Goddess Durga's Idol

According to Vastu Shastra, the north-east direction (Ishan Kon) is ideal for placing Goddess Durga's idol. This direction, governed by Guru Brihaspati, attracts positive energy and invokes the goddess's blessings.

2. Alternative Directions for Idol Placement

If north-east is unavailable, place the idol in the east or west direction. Avoid placing it in the south direction, as it's considered inauspicious. Ensure the idol faces east or west for optimal energy.
