Raksha Bandhan 2024: Raksha Bandhan holds great significance in Hinduism, celebrating the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. On Shravana Purnima, sisters tie a Rakhi on their brother's wrist, symbolising protection and loyalty. In return, brothers pledge to safeguard their sisters, fostering a deep sense of responsibility and affection. This ancient tradition strengthens familial ties, promoting harmony and unity. Raksha Bandhan is a poignant expression of sibling love, revered in Hindu culture as a powerful bond that transcends worldly bonds. This year, Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on 19th August 2024.

Astrologer and Vastu expert Rajeev Aacharya of International Sanatan Dharma Parishad Trust Ujjain shares several vastu tips to ensure prosperity and long life of brother for Raksha Bandhan.

Raksha Bandhan 2024: Effective Vastu Tips For Long Life Of Brother

Rajeev Aacharya advises that, according to Vastu principles, sisters can ensure their brother's long life and prosperity by following certain Vastu tips when celebrating Raksha Bandhan.

1. Tie Rakhi Facing This Direction

In Vastu Shastra, direction holds significant importance. To reap the benefits of Raksha Bandhan, it's recommended to tie the Rakhi while facing the North East direction, as this direction is governed by Jupiter and Lord Vishnu, thereby bestowing blessings of longevity on the brother. If the North East direction is not feasible, Vastu suggests alternative directions for tying Rakhi. Brothers should face either the East direction, ruled by the Sun, to bring success and progress, or the North direction, governed by Mercury, to foster love, happiness, and peace within the family.

2. Avoid South Direction

According to Vastu principles, it is advisable to avoid tying Rakhi with the brother's face towards the South direction, as this is considered inauspicious.

3. Make Rangoli

To attract positive energy on Raksha Bandhan, create a beautiful Rangoli in the Brahma place (centre) area of your home and illuminate it with a lamp, fostering a harmonious and auspicious atmosphere.

4. Harness The Power Of Sawan Somwar

This year, Raksha Bandhan coincides with the last Monday in the sacred month of Sawan, offering a rare opportunity for spiritual significance. To reap blessings, both men and women are advised to worship Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva and tie the Raksha Sutra to them, thereby dispelling life's challenges and inviting happiness and prosperity.

5. Surya Arghya

To pray for a brother's long life on Raksha Bandhan, a sacred ritual involves adding yellow sandalwood to water, offering Arghya to the Sun, and then tying the Rakhi, thereby invoking divine blessings to fulfil the wish of a long and healthy life for the brother.
