Shakambhari Purnima 2024: Significance Of This Sacred Day 

Shakambari, the goddess, is loving, caring, and kind. "Shaka" refers to fruits, vegetables, and plants. "Ambhari" is a term that means "bringing." Therefore, the very name Shakambhari denotes the grace of Devi. She is regarded as the supreme mother of all living things. In addition, she is known as the Goddess of the Forest and is supposed to guard those who pass through its woodlands. In addition to fasting and worshipping, charitable contributions should be made on the day of Shakambhari Jayanti or Purnima. 

Shakambhari Purnima 2024: Rituals Associated With This Pious Day 

- Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a bath. 

- Thereafter, worshippers offer prayers to Mata Shakambhari and vow to uphold a fast. 

- People visit Mata Shakambhari temples to revere the goddess and seek her divine blessings. Saharanpur is home to one of the most well-known Shakambhari Devi temples in all of North India. 

- This auspicious day is widely celebrated in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. 

- Shakambhari Devi is revered as Banashankari Devi in Karnataka. A temple dedicated to Banashankari Devi is located in Badami, Karnataka. 

- Banashankari Pratah Smaran Mantra is also chanted in honour of Mata Shakambhari.
