Shani Trayodashi January 2025: Significance

Visiting a temple and offering Tilabhishek (oil bath) to Shani Dev is highly auspicious on Shani Trayodashi. Devotees spend the day fasting and offer various items such as black grams, coal, and gingerly oil to please Shani Dev.
To further appease Lord Shani, devotees can perform acts of kindness such as feeding crows, donating black clothes or footwear to the poor, and chanting the Shani Mantra. Additionally, devotees can donate a bundle of items, including nine types of cereals and eight pieces of iron, tied in a black cloth to the temple or under running water.
The Shani Trayodashi fast begins early in the morning and ends at sunset. There are two versions of the fast: a strict version that prohibits food and water intake and a milder version that allows fruits and milk.
