Sita Ki Rasoi Ayodhya: Sita ki Rasoi, located in Rajkot, Ayodhya, on the northwest side of the Ram Janmanhoomi, is thought to be a historic kitchen that the goddess Sita herself used. This holy spot which was constructed not far from the Ram Janmabhoomi, is now a temple with several display vessels within. This underground kitchen is one of the two kitchens that bear Devi Sita's name.  Let us check out some interesting facts and history about this sacred place.

Sita Ki Rasoi Ayodhya: Interesting Facts And History of This Sacred Place 

- The lavishly dressed and ornamented idols of Lord Ram along with his brothers Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan along with their wives Sita, Urmila, Mandavi, and Srutakirti are situated at the other end of the temple. Goddess Sita, sometimes called Goddess Annapurna, is revered as the Goddess of Food. As a result, the temple continues this custom by providing free food. 

- Many local legends are connected with Sita Ki Raso. According to certain scholars, Sita ji may have at least once prepared meals in this kitchen. According to some scholars, Devi Sita prepared meals for the family in this kitchen as an omen when she arrived at her in-laws' home. Some claim that this was Devi Sita's kitchen, however, Mother Sita never prepared meals there, instead, she had other people prepare meals while she was there. 

- It is also thought that Sita ji got her name as Annapurna Mata after feeding five sages in this kitchen.  

- There is a misconception regarding the kitchen that states that a rolling pin and a rolling plate still exist there.

- Scholars believe that dishes such as matar ghughuri, kadhi, malpua, and three varieties of kheer were served in Sita Ki Rasoi. Beside this kitchen, there's also a Janaki Kund. It is believed that the goddess Sita used to bathe in this sacred pond.
