Religious symbols are significant to all universal faiths. Each of these religious symbols has a unique energy and is said to be auspicious. These symbols act as a bridge to deepen the relationship between humanity and the Supreme Being. Hinduism recognises a number of sacraments, including the Lotus, Rudraksha, Tilaka, Vibhuti, Shiva Lingam, Om, and Sri Chakra Yantra. One of the most well-known and fortunate symbols, the "Swastik," has been used extensively in Hindu rituals from ancient times.

Swastik: Significance Of This Sacred Symbol

Originating from the Sanskrit word "svastika," which signifies "It is," "Good Existence," "Good Luck," and "Well Being," comes the phrase "Swastika." Sanskrit interprets the symbol Swastika as pure and auspicious.

According to popular opinion, the four branches of the Swastika represent the fourfold principles of divinity, which are as follows:

1. It is believed that the four-faced Lord Brahma spreads divine knowledge in all four directions.

2. There are four Vedas: the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda.

3. The four Purusharthas are Dharma (holy duty or morality), Artha (obtain wealth), Kama (fulfil wants), and Moksha (liberation) (freedom from cycles of life and death).

5. The four Varnas are Shudra, Vaishya, Kshatriya, and Brahman.

6. The four cardinal directions—north, south, east, and west—are likewise represented by the Swastika's four arms. The central point of the Swastika is said to represent the navel of Lord Vishnu, the source from when Lord Brahma emerged.
