Varaha Jayanti 2024: Significance

Vaharaha Jayati 2024: Puja Vidhi To Worship Lord Vishnu

On Varaha Jayanti, devotees worship Lord Vishnu with great fervour and dedication. The Puja Vidhi involves a series of rituals to appease the Lord. It begins with a holy bath and dressing in clean clothes. Then, a sacred altar is set up with an image or idol of Lord Varaha. Devotees offer flowers, fruits, and naivedya (prasad) to the Lord, accompanied by chanting of sacred mantras like the Varaha Gayatri and Vishnu Sahasranama. A special abhishekam (ritual bath) is performed with milk, curd, and ghee, symbolising purification.

The Lord is then adorned with new clothes and ornaments. The puja concludes with aarti, prasad distribution, and a heartfelt prayer to Lord Varaha for protection, prosperity, and spiritual growth. Devotees also observe a day-long fast, breaking it only after the puja, to seek the Lord's blessings. By following this Puja Vidhi, devotees seek to connect with Lord Vishnu's divine energy and embody the values of righteousness and courage.
