Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanthi 2025: Vasavi Jayanthi celebrates the divine appearance day of Sri Vasavi Devi or Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devi, who is regarded as an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanthi 2025: Significance

Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanthi or Vasavi Jayanthi commemorates the birth day of Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari. Her worshipers in south Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu observe it with great enthusiasm. Special offerings, ceremonies and public gatherings are also carried out in temples.

As per the legends, Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari was born in the 14th century to King Bukkaiah and Queen Nagamamba in Turpu, Andhra Pradesh. She is revered as an avatar of Goddess Parvati and gained fame due to her unshakeable devotion to Lord Shiva and strong dedication to serving the poor and needy.

Sri Vasavi Devi is worshipped as the Goddess of peace, music and arts. Her devotees celebrate Vasavi Jayanthi with utmost devotion in many Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari temples. Devotees pay tribute to the goddess by conducting special pujas at home. The rituals start with Ganesh Vandana, then a Homam and Archana with 108 names of Sri Vasavi Devi. Worshipers provide Neivedyam to the goddess and afterwards distribute the offerings. These practices are intended to get her blessings for happiness, good health and prosperity in life.

On Vasavi Jayanthi, temples and houses shine with lit lamps as devotees sing aarti and present flowers, fruits and other offerings to the goddess. The festival also unites people in terms of cultural celebrations like music and dance performances, traditional processions and the sharing of sweets and delicacies with family and friends.
