Who Is Lord Khatu Shyam: Khatu Shyam Baba is revered as the Lord of Kaliyuga. You might have heard of the phrase “Haare Ka Sahara, Baba Shyam Hamara” which simply means Khatu Shyam Ji is the one who supports all those who are defeated in life. Khatu Shyam Ji is known to be King Barbarik, the grandson of the mighty Pandava Bheema and the son of Ghatotkachcha. The sacred texts suggest that Barbarik was a courageous soldier. His triple arrow, which was actually a bow with three arrows, was unusual. Any war might be over in a minute with the three arrows.
The first arrow would designate the target group. The second arrow would indicate who needed to be slain, and the third arrow would actually go and do the killing. People worship King Barbarik as Lord Khatu Shyam he is believed to grant the wishes of all his devotees.
Story Of King Barbarik Becoming Lord Khatu Shyam Ji
Barbarik wanted to fight when the Mahabharata war was declared since he was a warrior. He encountered Lord Krishna on his way to Kurukshetra. Krishna put his triple arrow to the test and was impressed. Lord Krishna now feared that, if Barbarik engaged in combat, he would win the conflict and be left as its sole survivor. Additionally, he reasoned that he would fight from the side that was losing and would switch sides every day, producing the same outcome.
Lord Krishna understood that it was necessary to prevent Barbarik from taking part in the conflict. He desired that the Pandavas remain alive after the fight. Barbarik's head was needed for the ritualistic war-starting process, which is why Krishna asked for it. However, as a final request, Barbarik told Krishna that he wanted to see the battle.

Barbaric then saw the entire Mahabharata War as Lord Krishna positioned his head atop a hill. Who won the battle, he was asked at its conclusion? He said, "Krishna." Everyone else was simply performing in the way he desired.
Barbaric received a wish from Krishna that he would be recognised by his name in the Kaliyug. He acquired the name "Shyam" as a result.
