Many spiritual beliefs are associated with the Yulla Kanda Temple, one of them being associated with a lake surrounding the temple is located at an elevation of 12,000 ft above sea level. As per the beliefs of the local residents, swimming in this sacred lake purifies the mind and the body against all forms of negativity and misfortune.

Another local belief suggests that if a person takes a traditional Kinnauri cap or hat and tries to float it upside down in the lake near the temple, they may find their fortune. Locals suggest that if the cap reaches the other side of the river without sinking, the person will find peace and a fulfilling life in the future.

The best time to trek Yulla Kanda is between mid-May and mid-October, when the weather is more favourable, temperatures are mild, and there are less chance of heavy rain or snowfall.
