The bizarre mix-up unfolded in Funchal, where fans reportedly arrived at Funchal Cathedral amid growing rumours that Ronaldo and Rodriguez were preparing to tie the knot. However, the wedding taking place at the venue had absolutely nothing to do with the football superstar.

Fans Mistake Couple's Wedding For Ronaldo's
The wedding was actually for Fabio Ramos and Fatima Nicole Cunha Teixeira, a couple living in France who had returned to their homeland to get married.

The couple has no known connection to Ronaldo, but the presence of large numbers of fans outside the cathedral reportedly left the bride, groom and their wedding party stunned.
Father Marcos Goncalves, the parish priest who officiated at the ceremony, confirmed that Ronaldo's wedding was not taking place at the venue.
“I can tell you that they are nothing to do with Cristiano Ronaldo. This is the only wedding taking place here today,” he said.
