India vs Pakistan Highlights, Men's Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2024: India Beat Arch-Rival Pakistan To Secure Convincing 2-1 Victory

Indian hockey team registered a dominating 2-1 victory over arch-rival Pakistan to remain unbeaten in the Asian Champions Trophy. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scores 2 penalty corners to stamp his authority on the game.

Pakistan's Waheed Ashraf Rana has been given a yellow card after a collision with Jugraj Singh of India. He will now sit out for ten minutes.

India keeps the possession of the ball and continues to dominate the play right into the fourth quarter.

India are leading by 2-1 at the end of the third quarter. Pakistan battled hard but failed to convert any of their opportunities as India continued to dominate.

Team India continues to dominate the play to maintain the lead. Indian team saves two Penalty Corners as Pakistan couldn't find the back of the net. Two back-to-back big saves from Indian keeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak.

India have done well to maintain their 2-1 lead at the half-time. Pakistan got their first PC second before the break but couldn't find the back of the net. Harmanpreet has scored both goals for India.

India have done well so far in this quarter to maintain their lead. Indian players including skipper Harmanpreet are heading forward for advanced play and creating pressure on Pakistan's defence. However, there hasn't been any threatening penetration so far in Pakistan's circle.

Goal! India have taken a lead early in the second quarter. Harmanpreet scored his second goal of the match as he made no mistake in converting yet another penalty corner.

Goal! Pakistan have taken an early 1-0 lead here as Nadeem finds the back of the net. This has come against the run of play. Brilliant way to carry the ball forward and Nadeem made no mistake after picking up a magnificent pass.

The first few minutes belonged to India but Pakistan have done well to pick up the momentum in this all-important fixture. They have made two remarkable attacks out of nowhere and were very close to take an early lead.

India are off to a promising start already in these early minutes. The Men in Blue are trying to maintain possession and have made a couple of circle penetrations.

The match has started as action begins in the first quarter.

Players of both the teams have taken the field and the action is all about the start in the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan.

"I have been playing with some of the players in the Pakistan team since my junior days and we share a special bond with them. They are like my brothers. Of course, on the field, we will go about the match like we would against any other opponent and make sure we keep our emotions in check," he said.

"In world hockey, the rivalry the two teams share is unparalleled and I am sure fans across the globe will be waiting for an India-Pakistan match." Though India enjoys an edge over Pakistan, Harmanpreet is least bothered about past results.

"Past results will not matter when we take on a team like Pakistan. They are a tough side and have the potential to bounce back at any stage in the game," he said.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh achieved a unique milestone during their match against South Korea as he scored his 200th goal for the national team.

He is only the third Indian after Major Dhyan Chand and Balbir Singh Sr and the 12th player overall to reach the feat.
