India vs South Korea Highlights, Asian Champions Trophy: IND Secure 3-2 Win Against Attacking KOR

India secure a narrow win against Korea despite the multiple attacks from the defending champions in the fourth quarter of the game. India take three points from here to claim the top spot from Malaysia.

India's sloppy work in defence continues as Korea earn another PC in the final quarter. GOAL for Korea on the second attempt.

India save the first PC but they another one. Another saved but Korea still have the PC. Another save but Korea have asked for a video referral.   

Four PCs and not a single was converted to goal as Amit Rohidas ran a brilliant line to deny any shot on goal by Koreans.

WHAT! Harmanpreet Singh misses the penalty stroke as goalkeeper makes a brilliant save by diving to his right.  

Final 15 minutes of the game starts as India look to further extend their lead and the early penalty corner for the hosts. 

India on the attack in the dying second of the third quarter and a save from the Korean goalkeeper means that the scoreline will remain the same.

Mandeep Singh's goal extends India's lead to two goals in the ongoing third quarter.

The half-time hooter confirms that India will go to the break with a 2-1 lead in the match. Another interesting quarter for both teams.

Two successive circle entries by Koreans but firm Indian defenders keep their calm to successfully deny them any chance to score. 

Harmanpreet Singh scores on a powerful drag-flick to give India a 2-1 lead in the match.

The ball hits the Korean defender's foot in the circle and India get their first PC after 2o minutes of play.  

Brilliant aerial cross ball by Koreans in the circle but the alerted Indian defenders deny them from scoring at the moment. 

IND 1-1 KOR (25') 

The first quarter ends on a 1-1 after both teams score field goals. A great attacking game from both sides.

Ji Woo Cheon scores the equaliser in the 12th minute. The forward finds open space in India's defence to cancel the hosts' lead in the match.

India are in attacking mode in the first quarter of the play but Korean solid defence is hard to breach.

India are pushing from left to right in Blue shirts while Korea are attacking from right to left in Reds.

India goalkeeper Krishan Pathak will play his 100th international against South Korea in the Asian Champions Trophy.

“When I came to the Indian team in 2018, I was a bit apprehensive. Obviously, when a new player joins the team, it is always difficult to communicate with the seniors. Things got better as Sreejesh and I started playing more together. We discussed our games, and our bonding got better,” said Pathak in a conversation with Sportstar.

"It’s every coach’s concern if you are not converting your chances, whether corners or field goals. So, you always try to work out ‘why?’ and try to find a solution for that and combinations of players together," he said.

"I think it was all about patience today (Sunday). We realised that we cannot win any game in the first half, so patience was a vital show from the team," Hardik said.

"If we are unable to score, we still have the ball, and we are setting the tempo, so the goal has to come some time or the other. Also, the decent number of field goals today makes this triumph even sweeter. Besides having patience and maintaining the tempo, what was positive was that even after earning the cards, we didn't concede any goals," he added.

"I think we defended well and that helped us put an attack in place. So, we were able to defend from a lot of areas in the field that helped us counter, which is good. We scored some field goals, which got the boys some confidence," Craig Fulton said after Sunday's 5-0 win over Malaysia.

"As far as penalty corner conversion rate (in this match) is concerned, you will have a bad day, but it won't stay bad forever. And we had a good balance today (Sunday)," he added.
