Hong Kong Open 2025: India's star shuttler Lakshya Sen has kept India's hopes alive during the ongoing tournament. He is the only Indian in the men's singles category and had to beat two Indian players, HS Prannoy and Ayush Shetty, and has qualified for the semifinal. He defeated the youngster during the quarterfinals on Friday.
Both the Indian shuttlers were at their absolute best. But it was Sen, who had won the three-set thriller by 21-16, 17-21, and 21-13. Post losing the first set, Shetty made a brilliant comeback even though he was trailing at 15-16 at one point. He did score six points in quick succession and won the second set by 17-21.
But Lakshya Sen ensured that he didn't let Shetty bounce back again in the third set and won it by 13-21. He will lock horns with either Chou Tein Chen or Alwi Farhan during the semis.

Satwik-Chirag also made it to the semis earlier in the day
At the same time, the star doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have also reached the semifinals. They defeated the Malaysian pair of Yap Roy King and Junaidi Arif by 21-14, 20-22, and 21-16. They have been in sublime form, but will face a challenging task when they lock horns with Chinese Taipei's Chen Cheng Kuan and LIN Bing-Wei.
The Indian fans would hope that both Lakshya and Satwik-Chirag reach the summit clash and also lift the title.
