Why Were Barcelona Fined By The Spanish FA?
The RFEF imposed the €602 penalty under Article 133 of its disciplinary regulations, which deals with the failure to comply with instructions, decisions or regulatory obligations.
Atletico’s complaint centred on the claim that Barcelona approached Alvarez while the Argentine forward remained under contract at the Metropolitano. The Spanish club argued that any club seeking to sign a contracted player must first communicate its intention to the player's current club in writing before opening negotiations.
