Following a successful and exciting initial phase, The Good Club Padel League 2025 returned to the courts for its highly anticipated second phase, running from May 16th to 18th, 2025. Building on the momentum of the first phase, this segment was also expected to deliver another weekend of intense competition among talented padel players.

Through this league, The Good Club has proudly established India's inaugural padel league. This initiative introduces a novel playing format and injects a fresh wave of enthusiasm into the nation's sports scene. It has successfully united enthusiastic individuals, families, and businesses in a collective celebration of sport, community, and a mutual dedication to progress, both within and beyond the confines of the court.

Co-founders Aashna A Mehra and Pranav Mehra, the visionaries behind The Good Club and the GCPL, spoke to Jagran English about the reception and their future plan.

Why a sport like Padel was picked and that too in a city like Chandigarh?

"We have been watching this game since we have been travelling to other countries. When we came back to Chandigarh - the first thought that came up around me that we need a club that can provide everything for everyone. From kids, young kids, mothers, fathers, women, everyone here has something to do and we really wanted to create that wellness feel in Chandigarh. Paddle was not just a sport, it's a lifestyle."

"The reason for choosing Chandigarh is that I (Aashna) have been born and brought up here. I have always been into sports my entire life. I have been a Tennis player and I can say that is easy for a Tennis player to transition into a Padel player. (Pranav) It has been easy for us to build a community here in Chandigarh."

Any plans of broadcasting the league in the future?

"We already have that planned out for knockouts. There was also a plan to get the broadcasting for league stages but due to some backend issue, it couldn't materialise. Nevertheless, the knockouts are going to be broadcasted online."

How do you see the future of this league going forward?

The energy displayed during the first phase was truly inspiring, and with the second phase, the league has only grown stronger. We've witnessed not just top-tier athleticism but an unmissable spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. This is what The Good Club stands for - a place where people come to play hard, connect deeper, and elevate their lifestyle.

We are also planning a winter season this year. We want to create a 'Padel Retreat' in other cities for families who are looking for holidays. We are looking to create a 'Padel-holiday' for families spending a week or 10 days or more.
