YOUTUBE, a popular audio and video streaming platform around the world owned by Google which has constantly been releasing a series of new features, has not rolled out the Spotify-like 'real-time lyrics' feature to its music streaming service YouTube Music on Android and iOS. However, the feature is available for some YouTube music subscribers and is not available for every user, claims a reporter by 9to5Google.
The company has introduced the feature which the audio streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music already have. For those unversed, the real-time lyrics feature would help the users to sing along to their favourite song without missing out on the real-time lyrics and ultimately enhancing their listening experience.
According to the report, when users drag up the middle tab from the bottom of Now Playing, YouTube Music currently displays static lyrics. Several users have already enabled the feature and shared screenshots and their experiences on Reddit. By launching the YouTube Music app and choosing a song to play, users can make use of this functionality. Additionally, once the song starts playing, they can manually activate the real-time lyrics feature by tapping on the "lyrics" tab at the bottom of the screen.
Meanwhile, YouTube has rolled out song and album credits to its Music app. With this new feature, users will be able to see song and album credits when listening to their favourite music.
Meanwhile, the audio streaming platforms are seen working extensively on the podcast segment. According to a report by Forbes, Spotify has invested over $215 since 2021, that too after spending over $1 billion. During the investor meeting, the company has also announced that it has over 4 million podcasts on the platform as of now.
