Apple tech products are used globally due to their interconnected ecosystem and secure software. And the company regularly rolls out updates for users to improve security and add features. The latest update should be your top priority as the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a 'high' severity rating advisory for iOS, iPad and macOS users.
CERT-In, functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, has issued an advisory highlighting multiple vulnerabilities in Apple products. These errors can allow attackers to access sensitive information and more.
CERT-In noted that these flaws may also let bad actors "execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, cause denial of service (DoS) conditions, bypass authentication, gain elevated privileges and perform spoofing attacks on the targeted system."
The list of affected software includes iOS versions prior to 17.2 (and 16.7.3), iPadOS versions prior to 17.2 (and 16.7.3), macOS Sonoma versions prior to 14.2, macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.6.3, macOS Monterey versions prior to 12.7.2, tvOS versions prior to 17.2, watchOS versions prior to 10.2 and Safari versions prior to 17.2.

In easy terms, this could let users steal sensitive details such as personal and financial information, and execute malicious scripts to take control of a device. DoS attacks may bloat the product with traffic making it difficult to use. Some of these vulnerabilities were exploited in the wild and users must update their software to the latest build to stay safe from such threats.
Plus, you can also apply the latest security update to patch the highlighted vulnerabilities. As a safety measure, you must stay cautious while accessing files and viewing links from unknown sources. Also, check for password health and enable two-factor authentication for accounts. On a related note, the national nodal agency recently warned Samsung smartphone users of threats in the software.
