iPhone 15 Pro Max Manufacturing Cost: Apple announced the iPhone 15 series at the much-awaited Wonderlust event in September. As expected, the company announced four models, leaving speculations around the 'Ultra' model brewing for more months. The lineup included the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In a fresh move, the manufacturing costs of the models were revealed in a report.
While the retail prices of the vanilla model remain unchanged, the Pro trims witnessed a price rise in India. Speaking of the United States, the price of the Pro models remained unaffected by the increased costs. Here is a report to give you detailed insights.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Manufacturing Cost
Citing a Nikkei report, AppleInsider reported that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 12 per cent higher cost of production in comparison to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The cited cost is $558 (around Rs 46,447 after price conversion). It starts from $1,199 (about Rs 99,800) in the US.
In the teardown, "Nihon Keizai Shimbun and Fomalhaut Techno Solutions of Japan" claimed that the display is 10 per cent costlier, titanium frame is 43 per cent more expensive (than stainless steel), and A17 Pro (unlike A16 Bionic) is 27 per cent more expensive compared to the previous generation. The costs are also on the higher side for the optics.

The mid-model reportedly has a manufacturing cost of $523 (about Rs 43,500), an eight per cent increase compared to the 2022 model. It starts from $999 (roughly Rs 83,000).
Apple iPhone 15 Plus Production Expenses
The 15 Plus model in the vanilla trim can be manufactured at a cost of $442 (close to Rs 36,800), a 10 per cent increase. It starts from $899 (close to Rs 74,800).
Apple iPhone 15 Manufacturing Cost
The model has reportedly witnessed the highest cost change. At 16 per cent more than last year, the iPhone 15 cost $423 (around Rs 35,200). It has a starting price of $799 (about Rs 66,500).
Do note the Indian currency rates mentioned in the report are mere price conversions and should not be confused with the making costs of the Indian models. It is just for a rough comparison.
