Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is all set to host its September 2024 launch event, where the company will likely unveil the new iPhone 16 series, Apple smartwatches and AirPods. This event may be followed by the introduction of new Mac devices powered by M4 chipsets in November this year, according to MacRumors.

Citing a reliable source, the news outlet noted that the new M4-powered Mac devices could debut in November. However, considering the previous track record, the company could still consider an October announcement. The last year's Mac units were announced at the 'Scary Fast' event on October 30 where the company introduced new iMac and MacBook Pro with M3 processors.

The company reportedly plans to announce four new Macs at the event before the end of 2024. These may include an M4 MacBook Pro (14-inch), M4 Pro-powered MacBook Pro (14-inch), M4 Max-powered MacBook Pro (16-inch), M4 iMac and a redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chipsets. Apart from the 'mini' device, all other MacBook Pro models may be a minor refresh.

The new MacBook Pro may ship with 16GB memory as a standard configuration. A few machines are reportedly in the mass production phase which could hint at a November release. Meanwhile, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hints the company could introduce the M4 Macs starting this year and the launches span up to the first half of 2025. The journalist noted the lineup could include Mac mini, iMac and MacBook Pro.

As for the Mac mini, the M4 Pro trim is tipped to get five USB-C ports while retaining the Ethernet, HDMI, and headphone ports. The USB-A ports could exit from the new Mac mini. This may follow for the Mac Pro and Mac Studio next year, according to Gurman. However, readers should note that Apple has not confirmed these affairs and the information in the report must be taken with a pinch of salt as it is subject to change.
