ASUS partnered with Microsoft to introduce its newest handheld gaming series—the ROG Xbox Ally line—to India. The lineup consists of two models, the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X, both available for pre-order currently through ASUS retail stores, its own official eShop, Amazon, and Vijay Sales. Dispatch is scheduled to start on October 16, 2025.
ROG Xbox Ally Series: Expanding the Portable Gaming Frontier
Arnold Su, ASUS India's Vice President of Consumer and Gaming PC, stated that the new ROG Xbox Ally range is intended to provide Indian players with greater freedom in terms of where and how they play. The units, he continued, leverage the capabilities of a gaming PC in the convenience of a handheld console, allowing players to "game without limitation".

Built in Collaboration With Xbox
The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are jointly developed by ASUS' Republic of Gamers (ROG) group and Microsoft's Xbox team. They take heavy cues from the Xbox Wireless Controller, providing intuitive contoured grips, impulse triggers, HD haptics, and customisable rear buttons. It provides console gamers with an immediately recognisable touch while providing comfort for marathon gaming sessions.
Specifications and Performance
Both handsets are driven by AMD's newest Ryzen Z2 processors tailored for gaming in handheld form. The higher-end ROG Xbox Ally X has a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor with an integrated Neural Processing Unit for enhanced AI-enhanced performance. It also has 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD storage, and an 80Wh battery, making it perfect for prolonged gaming sessions.
The default ROG Xbox Ally comes with a Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and a 60Wh battery—but is still capable of the majority of mainstream games. Both devices feature AMD's FSR, RSR, and AFMF technologies, which increase frame rates and visual smoothness.
Display and Connectivity
All devices come with a 7-inch Full HD IPS screen and 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.
The ROG Xbox Ally X pushes connectivity further with USB4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, DisplayPort 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a UHS-II microSD card slot, providing several expansion opportunities. While introducing upgrades, ASUS has found ways to make the devices light in weight—715 grams for the Ally X and 670 grams for the standard model.
Price and Launch Offers
The ROG Xbox Ally is available for Rs. 69,990, and the ROG Xbox Ally X retails for Rs. 114,990. Both will be available from October 16, 2025.
ASUS is also launching exclusive pre-order promotions. The initial 100 customers of the ROG Xbox Ally X can get a reward bundle for Rs. 16,947 that contains an ROG Slash Sling Bag and a one-year Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for only Rs. 499. ROG Xbox Ally customers can unlock similar rewards for Rs. 1,499.
